This is the finished product of my fist project for IAR. The whole idea of the project was to design a place for a leaf. Although the finished product looks nothing like the original sketches that I did, it was helpful to draw out my ideas to envision what the final "place" would look like. When I looked at my leaf the first thing that stood out to me was the predominant red vein that ran along the center of the leaf. I thought that I should incorporate it, so i ran red paper down the whole side of my project. The place itself is made of a sturdy translucent paper to mimic the sturdiness of the leaf. Altogether, i learned a lot from this project about being able to make a well designed piece with very little material(literally only paper). The top images are the beginning sketches of the project that i did. I tried out making the designs but I didn't like the way any of them turned out. I then took aspects of some of the sketches, along with new ideas to come to my final design.
